Meet Delta

Meet Delta, an adorable black lab (?) pup who is looking for a new home! He is named for the white delta symbol on his chest.

Delta is in Lubbock, TX, and was found in mid-May as a neighborhood stray with no tags or microchip. We posted him on social media lost-and-found groups (Facebook, Next Door) with no response. We also scoured these groups looking for someone who might be missing him but have not found any matches.

Delta has been examined by a local vet who confirmed he is not chipped. He is in good health and received puppy #3 shots including DA2PP (for distemper, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza, and parvovirus) and rabies, and he is heartworm negative. He weighed 25 lbs. at his appointment on 6/3/2025, but he’s growing fast! He still had all of his puppy teeth at his appointment, and the vet estimated him to be around 4 months old. This would put his birthday around 2/3/2025.

Delta plays fetch, tug-of-war, and rides well in the truck. He does not seem to be afraid of storms. He is chewing a lot right now and enjoys a stick, a bone, or one of his many chew toys. He is a happy and very active puppy, and he will mature into a wonderful dog for the right home.

He wants to play with other dogs. Unfortunately, our other dogs are all older grumps and have been a bit overwhelmed by him. Our house cat is overwhelmed, too, lol. I have had black labs most of my life and would love to keep him for my own, but we already have a house full (!), so we want to find Delta the perfect forever home.

Please understand that Delta is still just a puppy and will behave like a puppy for quite some time (i.e., he is not just going to lay around and sleep all day). Labs are also notorious chewers for their first couple of years. That said, in my experience labs are some of the most loving and loyal family pets around!!
